A terrible idea. A fun game.

Angry Drunks is a mobile game where the player, through various characters, throws beer bottles at cops while attempting to rescue a jailed friend. I know — it's a terrible idea. But it's a fun game to play, and that's the only metric that matters.

I built the initial prototype myself in Corona SDK — enough working game to prove the concept and test the fun. Then I brought in an artist and a developer to take it the rest of the way. Released on iOS and Android. A friend of mine had the idea and wanted to build it.

So I did.

Two titles. One terrible idea that turned out to be fun.

Angry Drunks shipped on iOS and Android, and the follow-up — Angry Drunks Bingo — extended the IP into a second format. The project proved that a single producer can take a concept from napkin sketch to app store if they're willing to build the first version themselves.

It's still a terrible idea. It's still a fun game.
